The Wales Social Partners Unit acts as an information conduit between the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG), National Assembly for Wales (NAW) and the social partners. This is in addition to the normal contacts between WAG or NAW and the social partners.
WSPU's members are representatives of Business Wales (an association of Welsh business representative organizations) and the Wales TUC.
The BPC was established to provide a forum for consultation with the social partners. The members of the BPC are appointees of the political parties represented in the National Assembly for Wales, Business Wales, the Wales TUC, the Wales Co-operative Centre and Community Enterprise Wales. It is not yet clear exactly what format the BPC or similar means of consultation will take under the Third Assembly, however more details will be supplied here in due course.
