ACW Arts Council of Wales
Still exists due to role in lottery funding. However, a new Culture Board for Wales has also been established. Strategy, policy and planning capability in arts and in sports are undertaken within the Welsh Assembly Government's Heritage department.

Care Council for Wales
No change in status.

CCW Countryside Council for Wales
No plans to change CCW's statutory functions, however, the Tir Gofal scheme now falls within the administration of the Welsh Assembly Government.

Environment Agency Wales
No change in status.

HEFCW Higher Education Funding Council for Wales
No change in status.

National Library of Wales
No change in status.

National Museums and Galleries of Wales
No change in status.

Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales
No change in status.

SCW Sports Council for Wales
Continues in existence due to role in lottery funding. Strategy, policy and planning capability in arts and in sports will be are undertaken within the Welsh Assembly Government's Heritage department.

Welsh Language Board
Office of regulator or dyfarnydd to be established to undertake WLB's regulatory function in overseeing public bodies' Welsh language schemes.

ACCAC Qualification, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales
Merged with the Assembly Government on 1 April 2006 as part of the Department for Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DELLS), now the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills.

Ancient Monuments Board for Wales
Reconstituted as an advisory panel of the Welsh Assembly Government as part of Cadw on 1 April 2006.

ELWa Education and Learning Wales
Merged with the Welsh Assembly Government on 1 April 2006 as part of the then Department for Education, Lifelong Learning and Sklils (DELLS), now the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS).

HPW Health Professions Wales
HPW Wales ceased to exist on 1 April 2006. Its functions were transferred to National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Healthcare (NLIAH) and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW), Welsh Assembly Government.

Historic Buildings Council for Wales
Reconstituted as an advisory panel of the Welsh Assembly Government as part of Cadw on 1 April 2006.

Wales Tourist Board
Merged with the Welsh Assembly Government on 1 April 2006 as part of the then Department for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks (DEIN). Tourism issues are now primarily dealth with by WAG's Heritage Department.

WDA Welsh Development Agency
Merged with the Welsh Assembly Government on 1 April 2006 as part of the Department for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks (DEIN), now Department for Economy and Transport.
